Feeling like you need more time?

Spring has sprung and for us 6am'ers this means lighter mornings (finally!), longer evenings… and the small matter of losing an hour to the clocks this weekend.
It’s only an hour, but it always feels like a bit of a hit - especially when your days already feel full, and you're already dreaming of Bernard's watch. For most business owners, it’s not just the clock change. It’s the same hour, every day, quietly disappearing into admin.
I hear you - what on earth are you on about Steph? 😂
It's the response I get every time I use that reference. I'm probably showing my age here and as I'm sure most of you have no idea what I mean... Bernard's watch was a TV show about a boy named Bernard who had a magic pocket watch that stopped time. He just had to hit a button and everything else except Bernard and anyone touching him stood still. Think extra time to finish homework, do chores, go on mysterious adventures... or finish that admin in this reference!
So, where does that mysterious hour go?
An hour doesn’t always look like a big task. It’s usually made up of smaller things like:
Clearing and replying to emails
Chasing invoices or payments
Scheduling and rescheduling meetings
Following up on leads
Uploading or formatting documents
Posting or scheduling content
Updating spreadsheets or CRM notes
None of these feel huge on their own. But together? They easily add up to an hour - or worse, more!
This is something I'm really trying to nail this quarter. Consistency in schedules and shutting off at the end of the work day, no more "I'll just do X" which ends up being a complete spiral of one thing after another and then 3 hours later "how did I just do all that when I was ready to shut down?"
What getting that hour back really gives you
Freeing up an hour isn’t just about time. It’s about what that time becomes.
An hour back could mean:
Finishing your day on time
Switching off properly in the evening
Being present with family or friends
Getting outside while it’s still light (absolutely life goal right here for my dog walks!)
Focusing on higher-value work
Or simply not thinking about your to-do list for a while
It’s less mental load. Less context switching. More breathing space.
What does this look like for me? A longer walk in the sunshine, prancing about the kitchen singing along to some 90s/00s pop whilst baking something, getting stuck into the book that has been waiting to be read for far too long, catching up with friends over weekend coffee or evening wine, or - probably most accurately at the moment - binging another (few) episdoes of Grey's Anatomy.
And as we head further into spring, that extra feels even more valuable. Hours sitting in the sunshine in the garden or by the river having leisurely walks and catch ups... what more could you want.
The reality? You don’t actually need more time...
You need some of it back.
Running a business will always come with moving parts. The goal isn’t to eliminate admin completely. It’s to stop it taking up the time that could be better spent elsewhere. That hour is already there. It just needs moving.
Want to feel like Bernard?
With the clocks changing, now feels like a great time to give that hour back to someone.
If you book and use at least an hour of support between now and Easter, you’ll be entered into a draw to win that hour back - completely free.
An extra hour. No strings. Just space.
If you’ve been thinking “I just need a bit more time” - this might be the easiest place to start. Drop me a message back with what you'd use that hour for.
